May 2 – 13 - Heartbeat Opera Spring Festival – “Bold and Vivid” – The New York Times
Mozart’s Don Giovanni – While Don Giovanni dances at the edge of a precipice, 3 extraordinary women pursue him, each seeking their own reckoning.
Beethoven’s Fidelio – A black activist is wrongfully incarcerated. His wife disguises herself to infiltrate the system and free him.
May 18 – More Forever, a collaboration – Caleb Teicher & Co & Conrad Tao – “You watch him with perpetual curiosity” – The New York Times - Caleb Teicher & Company continue their investigation of American dance traditions on a stage filled with a thin layer of sand. Employs jazz, tap, and Lindy Hop to a new contemporary score for piano and electronics by ASCAP winning composer/pianist Conrad Tao, this evening-length journey explores the place where movement and music collide.
