Distinguished CUNY Fellowships

The Advanced Research Collaborative (ARC) at the Graduate Center (GC) is pleased to announce the 2017-2018 Distinguished CUNY Fellowship Program, which awards Visiting Fellowships to tenured faculty within CUNY who are conducting research in particular areas. For 2017-1018, those areas are: Inequality * Immigration * Multilingualism

Fellowships will be tenable for one or two semesters during the 2017-2018 academic year. Awardees will receive course buy-outs up to a maximum of 3 course releases per semester. Distinguished CUNY Fellowships carry NO TEACHING DUTIES.

All Fellows, who are expected to be resident at the GC for the period of the award, will be provided with a private office, computer, and access to all academic resources. They will participate in our intellectual and academic life, including making regular use of office space, attending Fellowship events, presenting to a seminar/and or public audience, sharing work in progress with doctoral students, and mentoring in a research praxis seminar and individual sessions.

The Distinguished CUNY Fellows for 2016-2017 are Profs. Jose Cao-Alvira (Lehman), Ava Chin (CSI), Lourdes Follins (Kingsborough CC), John Goering (Baruch), Bill Haddican (Queens) Angela Reyes (Hunter), Robert Smith (Baruch), Christopher Bonastia (Lehman), Margaret Chin (Hunter), Ashley Dawson (CSI), Marnia Lazreg (Hunter), Miki Makihara (Queens College), Sara McDougall (John Jay), Virginia Valian (Hunter), Elena Vesselinov (Queens)

 

Application open date: September 1, 2016

Application close date: October 31, 2016

Awardees will be notified by January 31, 2017
