Dear Fall 2017 Faculty:

The certification of attendance period for Fall 2017 begins on Friday September 1 (12:01am) and continues through Thursday, September 14 (11:59pm).

During the certification of attendance process you are required to verify that all students listed are actually attending your class. This includes students in independent studies as well as students enrolled in online classes. The roster contains officially enrolled students for the course. The default value for the attendance radio button is “Yes, attended." For any student, who has never attended a class and there is no documented evidence of the student’s participation in the course (such as a completed assignment or in the case of an online class, having participated in a discussion board or similar activity) select the “No, never attended” radio button.

Certifying attendance roster is a CUNY requirement. Certification affects compliance with federal regulations (not doing it could mean that the college is fined) and students receiving financial aid. Please note that as of fall 2017, CUNY will notify students of classes that have not been certified and how their financial aid might be affected.

Students attending your course who do not appear on your roster, should be sent to the Registrar’s Office: Library Building, Room 850

You must claim your CUNYfirst account in order to submit your Fall 2017 certification of attendance roster. If you haven’t already done so (this is likely to apply to new adjunct faculty) please click on the following link to claim your account:
