From: Ron Aaron, Interim Director of Athletics and Professor, Student Development & Counseling
At Baruch College we have more than 225 students who participate annually on 14 intercollegiate teams in nine different sports coordinated through our Departments of Athletics & Recreation.
These young men and women carry a full-time class schedule, train on a daily basis, and, whether they play on campus or travel to away games, their typical day ends with homework and a long commute home. These student athletes represent the college with pride and are outstanding individuals on-and-off campus. Athletics is the largest co-curricular activity at Baruch College. As a former student-athlete at Hunter College, I consider those memories to be among my best from those foundational years.
I’m writing to you now to get a sense of which members of our faculty and staff were athletes in their high school or college years or whose children or other family members participate or participated in team sports during those formative years.
Additionally, I hope you will consider serving as a mentor to one of our student athletes. I do not anticipate anything that would be time consuming—just an opportunity to meet and help continue to educate our cohort of impressive student-athletes. Furthermore, I invite you to attend any one of our athletic contests and/or to follow the Baruch athletics program through our website (www.BaruchAthletics.com).
Should you be interested in any of the aforementioned or have any questions please contact me via email at Ron.Aaron@baruch.cuny.edu or phone me at (646) 312-4577. Thanks in advance for your willingness to share time with us.
