CTL Conversations: “Lowering the Cost of Course Materials: Navigating Open Educational Resources”
Wednesday, November 30, 4pm-5pm, NVC 14-270
Concerned about the high cost of course materials? Hear from members of the Baruch community who have been exploring different approaches to this topic.
New - Can’t join in person but would like to participate? You are welcome to join our experiment of remotely listening in via WebEx. Email Allison.Lehr-Samuels@baruch.cuny.edu to learn more.
CTL Conversations is a time for faculty to come together to informally workshop, brainstorm and discuss topics related to their teaching. Each week we’ll focus on a new topic and will invite members of the Baruch community who have expertise in the topic to be on hand, too. Faculty are welcome to drop in and leave at any point during the session. Refreshments available.

CTL Conversations: “Developing Assignments that Incorporate Current Events”
Wednesday, December 7, 4pm-5pm, NVC 14-267
Come together to brainstorm and share how you can develop meaningful assignments that relate your discipline to current events and promote the learning goals of your course.
Tech Thursdays: Annotation Tools
Thursday, December 8, 4pm-5pm CTL office, Newman Library building Room 123 (within the Subotnick Financial Center)
Join us to consider and discuss annotation tools such as CommentPress, Hypothes.is, Genius, and more!
Educause has two articles that might be of interest to faculty first learning about annotation tools. This article by Prof. Elyse Graham at SUNY Stony Brook offers historical context to the development of annotation tools. Click here to read a second article that discusses the benefits of using annotation tools.
