Here’s what’s happening at the Center for Teaching and Learning Next Week:

Fall 2017 Course Prep Bootcamps
Monday, 8/21, from 2-4pm
Wednesday, 8/23, from 2-4pm
Thursday, 8/24, from 10:30am-12:30pm

Friday, 8/25, from 12:30-2:00pm

Come to the CTL and get ready for the fall semester. Bring your syllabus and questions! The CTL staff helps part-time and full-time faculty think through:


-Classroom management/policies

-Experimenting with technology

-Fostering classroom discussion

-Active learning techniques

-Low-cost/free course materials

-Creating interdisciplinary activities

Courses in the face-to-face, hybrid and on-line formats are welcome. Stop by for a few minutes or stay the whole time. The CTL office is located in the Newman Library building, Room 123 (within the Subotnick Financial Center on the first floor).

CTL Conversations: “Faculty Welcome Back Social”
Thursday, 9/7 from 4-5pm in NVC 14-280

All faculty are welcome, whether you are new or returning, full or part-time. This is an informal time to bring questions, concerns and ideas and meet your colleagues and the CTL staff. Coffee and cookies will be served.

CTL Workshop:  “Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SoTL) Grants Workshop”
Thursday, 9/14 from 11am-12pm in Newman Library Room 763

This session offers faculty and graduate students a basic understanding of applying for grants that support SoTL (Scholarship of Teaching and Learning) projects. Learn about resources that help faculty identify internal and external funding opportunities and some basics on how to approach the grant writing process.
