CUNY Program for Online/Hybrid Instruction
Preparation for Teaching Online: A Foundational Workshop for CUNY Faculty
Registration is open for the January 7-21 online workshop
Members of the faculty are invited to participate in a CUNY-sponsored workshop to prepare faculty for online and hybrid course instruction. It is offered by the faculty development team at the School of Professional Studies (SPS). The workshop will be offered online with activities and assignments that can be completed on a flexible schedule (asynchronously) within each scheduled week. Faculty members who are scheduled to teach an online or hybrid course in spring 2013 will have priority in registration. Please also note that you must be available to participate in discussion during each of the two weeks. Participants who successfully complete requirements based on specific grading criteria and rubrics of the workshop will receive a certificate of completion from SPS as well as a payment from their college, based on 10 hours at their NTA rate (up to $550 total).
Faculty must have the approval of their academic supervisors (generally, department chairs who can attest to the scheduled online or hybrid class) to participate in this workshop and should already possess basic Blackboard skills.
The detailed description on the registration page at http://cunyonline.commons.gc.cuny.edu should answer most questions, but academic directors should feel free to conatct Susan Ko if there are any questions at susan.ko@MAIL.CUNY.EDU
