From: Corlisse Thomas, Assistant Vice President of Student Affairs
Baruch is working daily to anticipate and address student crisis situations. Among the tools that our campus employs is the use of a team to follow-up on reports of unusual or disturbing student behavior. As a faculty member, you will be the first, in many situations, to witness and question such student behavior. The Campus Intervention Team (CIT) acts as a support network for students in crisis. The team is a coordinated point of contact to address concerns about students from members of the Baruch community. Communicating your concern to the Campus Intervention Team will alert us to a student in need so that we can reach out to the student and offer the appropriate support service, whether it is counseling, health services, academic advising, disability student services or some other need. The team can also assist faculty members by talking with students about personal and/or medical issues that students may be reluctant to discuss openly with their instructors. You may visit the CIT website at www.baruch.cuny.edu/cit
for more information about Baruch’s Campus Intervention Team or to report a concern about a student. We can also be reached at cit@baruch.cuny.edu or 646-312-4570.
We appreciate your cooperation in helping us to provide support when Baruch students need it most.
