Baruch’s Vice Provost for Global Strategies, Jeffrey Peck, is seeking applications for a new position (an initial three-year appointment), called Faculty Fellow in Global Strategies, beginning January/February 2015. Following in the footsteps of the Baruch College Strategic Plan, and more recently, the Global Strategic Plan, the global activities at Baruch College are developing at a rapid pace in a number of areas: international recruitment, study abroad, faculty collaboration, academic programs, and institutional effectiveness. The Global Strategic Plan has also enumerated aside from these strategic priorities, a number of areas where attention must be paid to implementation, such as creating learning outcomes for global competencies, assessment of global programs, coordination of individual school strategic plans with the Global Strategic Plans. In addition, new projects are being developed that will need leadership not only to maximize their efficiency, but also to bring them to fruition. Some of these are creating faculty collaborations with our partner universities, working with individual faculty to develop and administer faculty led programs abroad, working with other units on campus, where needed, to create optimum circumstances for development and completion of projects, writing grants for potential global funding, and to represent the Vice Provost when he is unable to attend particular meetings. Other duties may also be assigned according to the needs of all global stakeholders at the College.

The successful candidate should possess the following qualifications:

  • Must be a full-time tenured faculty member of the Baruch faculty.
  • Must have a substantive interest in global strategies, activities, and administration.
  • Must have international experience.
  • Be willing to work with various constituencies on a variety of projects concerning global.
  • Have good writing, speaking, and communication skills, including grant writing.

The Faculty Fellow will receive 2 course releases per year and a travel stipend of $10k. S/he must have permission of his/her Chair and Dean. S/he must be willing to work at least two days during the summer. There will be some minimal funding for administrative support.

If interested, please submit a letter of application online to Jeffrey Peck (Jeffrey.peck@baruch.cuny.edu) by December 19 at 5 pm. A committee of faculty and staff from all three Schools will review the applications.

If you have any questions, please contact Jeffrey Peck at email or phone (646-312-3870)
