From: David Christy, Provost and Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs
Dear Baruch College Full-Time Faculty:
CUNY is conducting a system-wide survey of our full-time faculty using a survey instrument developed by COACHE at Harvard University. The survey link will be sent to faculty members via email during the week of February 9; most faculty should receive it on February 11. Your response to the survey of faculty job satisfaction is important to Baruch and CUNY.
Our goal is to obtain objective and balanced information on satisfaction of full-time tenured, tenure-track, and non-tenured faculty at Baruch College and to use that information to address areas of concern. I hope you choose to participate, and encourage your fellow faculty members to do the same. We will share the results of the survey during the fall semester after they are compiled by the CUNY Office of Institutional Research for each CUNY campus, college, or school.
Please join your faculty colleagues in participating in this important initiative to understand the priorities of our faculty informed by the data you provide.
Dave Christy, Provost
Project Fast Facts
The Collaborative on Academic Careers in Higher Education (COACHE) Faculty Job Satisfaction Survey. COACHE is located at Harvard University and conducts this multi-institutional survey annually to assess issues and trends in work satisfaction among college and university faculty. The study is conducted by COACHE and carries approval from Harvard’s Institutional Review Board (IRB).
COACHE collects data confidentially, only using identities to send reminders to non-respondents. Data are shared with CUNY and Baruch anonymously. Results will be reported in aggregate only, and only when five or more responses are present to protect anonymity of respondents.
