Dear Faculty Member:
Baruch College is working daily to anticipate and address student crisis situations. Among the tools the College employs is the use of a team to follow-up on reports of unusual or disturbing student behavior. As a faculty member, you are the first , in many situations, to witness and question such student behavior.
The Campus Intervention Team (CIT) acts as a support network for students in crisis. Moreover, the team serves as the coordinated point of contact to address concerns about students from members of the Baruch community. Communicating your concern to CIT will alert us to a student in need so that we can reach out to that student and offer the appropriate support service – whether it is counseling, health services, academic advising, disability student services, or some other need. The team can also assist faculty members by talking to students about personal and/or medical issues that students may be reluctant to discuss openly.
You may visit the CIT website at www.baruch.cuny.edu/cit for more information about the work of the team or to report a concern about a student. CIT can also be reached at firstname.lastname@example.org or call 646-312-4570.
Thank you for your willingness to provide this essential support for our Baruch students!
