We discovered a glitch in the CUNYfirst student information system that allows students to register for courses that start and end at the same time. For example, if a student registers for a course that ends at 12:25pm, CUNYfirst will allow registration of a course that begins at 12:25pm. After consultation with CUNY Central, it has been determined that there is no systematic fix to prevent such registrations from occurring. Therefore, in order to prevent future registrations and manual adjustments of the hundreds of conflicts that have already taken place for the Spring 2015 term, the “J” time block has been adjusted. The block that originally spanned 12:25pm-2:05pm, has been adjusted: it will meet from 12:40pm-2:20pm. The change has been updated in the schedule for any course that met in this time “J” time slot, and is accurately reflected in CUNYfirst. I apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.
