From: Dave Christy, Provost and Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs
I have asked my Chief of Staff, Dr. Linda Lemiesz, to assume the role of substitute Associate Provost while we conduct a search for a permanent replacement for Erec Koch. Linda’s appointment will begin on December 1 and is scheduled to conclude on June 1.
Dr. Lemiesz earned a doctorate in Comparative Literature from Columbia University, and a JD from New York Law School. Her professional career includes several decades of service as Dean of Students for Columbia University’s School of Engineering and Applied Science and at The Cooper Union. Linda joined the provost’s office at Baruch in January 2014, where she takes a lead role in academic affairs financial management, as well as a variety of other duties.
We plan to post the position of Associate Provost in mid-January, accepting applications until late February. Any member of the Baruch community who would like to discuss the position with Provost Christy, Associate Provost Slavin, Acting Associate Provost Lemiesz, or Vice-Provost Myung-Soo Lee are encouraged to do so. Our plan is to appoint the incoming Associate Provost effective June 1 or soon thereafter.
Dave Christy.
