From: Marjorie Dorimé-Williams, Director of Academic Assessment
Baruch’s Office of Academic Assessment is conducting a workshop on learning goals, student outcomes, and curriculum management. All staff and faculty are welcome to attend:
Learning Goals, Student Outcomes, and Curriculum Management
Tuesday, December 16, 1:30-3:00pm, Newman Library Building, Room 755
Clearly defined learning goals contribute to the structure of a course, program, department, or institution. Learning goals are a tool for communicating what students should know and be able to do at the end of a course or program. Developing clear learning goals and aligning them with desired student outcomes is also important for curricular management. This workshop will provide attendees with an opportunity to discuss learning goals, curriculum development and management, and the role of assessment in practice.
You will leave the workshop able to:
- Develop and write clear, concise learning goals
- Understand the relationship between curricula and learning goals
- Explain how student outcomes might influence the development of curricula and learning goals
