This email is being sent to all members of the Baruch faculty.
From: Keri Bertino, Director, Baruch College Writing Center
i Magazine, now in its third year of publication, seeks to publish the best student work of the Fall 2011 term. Essays, lab reports, case studies, reviews, fiction, multi-media—we’re looking to represent all the varied forms of outstanding intellectual and creative work that Baruch’s students create.
You can view the work published on i Magazine, including the resources for students that we’ve created using that work, here: <http://www.baruch.cuny.edu/writingcenter/imagazine>
We’d like to thank all faculty members who have nominated essays for publication in the past, and ask for your renewed support in nominating strong student writing for our Fall 2011 issue.
As always, we are looking for student work that can serve as models of strong academic and creative work at Baruch. Please email the strongest student work from your course as an attachment (or in the body of an email) to imagazine@baruch.cuny.edu with “Professor Nomination” in the subject line. Please also include a brief description of the writing’s strengths. Submissions will be read and published on a rolling basis. Don’t be shy! Nominating a student’s work is wonderfully encouraging to your students. It doesn’t have to be perfect, and there is an editorial and proofreading process built into the publication process. Through publishing student writing, we hope to recognize strong written work in its many academic forms, and to create a source of models for students and faculty to use as both in and out of the classroom.
Warm thanks for your continued support,
Keri Bertino
