The three documents that are attached to this message include important information and documents that are needed if you are eligible for Paid Parental Leave (PPL) and if you choose the eight-week leave option. The policy document (“Paid Parental Leave FINAL”) includes links to the University policies that form the basis for PPL. The “PPL Alternate Assignments” file provides guidance to the faculty member and his or her supervisor in determining an appropriate assignment for the weeks of the semester that are not covered by PPL. Finally, I am attaching a FORM (“Return from PPL Form FINAL”) that must be submitted no later than the FIRST DAY of the semester during which you will receive Paid Parental Leave. On that form you indicate the likely start and end dates of the 8-week leave, and submit a plan approved by your chair for the work assignment that you will complete during the weeks when you are not on PPL. Please work with your chair to develop and sign this agreement so that it can be effective on the first work day in the semester.
