Fortune Editor Andrew Serwer and the National Numeracy Network Come to CUNY
On October 12-13, the annual conference of the National Numeracy Network (NNN) will be held at CUNY. The theme of this year’s conference is "Quantitative Literacy at Work: Navigating the World of Business, Journalism, Finance and Citizenship." The opening plenary session will be held at Lehman College on Friday, October 12, with a talk by Andrew Serwer, the managing editor of Fortune (http://lehman.edu/lehmantoday/email/2012-STD-Andy-Serwer/). The keynote dinner begins at 6:30 PM in MU330.
On Saturday, the conference sessions will be held at Macaulay Honors College. There will be a number of talks on numeracy (including quantitative literacy and journalism, faculty training for quantitative literacy, etc.) by faculty and professionals from a wide range of disciplines and institutions (see http://serc.carleton.edu/nnn/meetings/2012annual/index.html for the preliminary program). For those interested in attending Friday night’s keynote dinner, advance registration is required (by 9/27) and the event costs $30. Full registration for the entire conference (including the Friday night keynote) is $60. (Registration is available online at: http://serc.carleton.edu/nnn/meetings/2012annual/index.html) All are welcome to attend!
