I am very pleased to announce that Dr. Rachél Fester has joined Baruch College as Assistant Provost for Assessment, Accreditation, and Institutional Effectiveness.

In this new role, she will be working across all academic and administrative departments at Baruch, collaborating with faculty, administration, and staff on a broad range of assessment, planning, research and accreditation initiatives. She will also serve as Baruch's Accreditation Liaison Officer for the Middle States Commission on Higher Education.

Rachél has nearly twenty years of experience in higher education administration, accrued at a wide range of institutions, where she led data analytics, research, assessment, planning, and accreditation efforts. She has also served as an adjunct assistant professor at the Austin W. Marxe School of Public and International Affairs of Baruch College since 2012, where she taught The History of Higher Education, Student Development Theory and Practice, and Management and Leadership in Higher Education.

Rachél's own research has focused primarily on access to and success in college for underserved, low-income and/or first generation students, and she has been published in Educational Policy, Enrollment Management Journal, the Journal of Black Studies, and the Journal of Student Financial Aid.

Rachél has a Ph.D. in Higher Education Management from the University of Pennsylvania; an M.S.Ed. in Higher Education Administration from Baruch College; an A.M. in Near Eastern Languages and Civilizations from the University of Chicago; and an A.B. in Near Eastern Languages and Civilizations from Harvard University.

Rachél's office is in NVC 4-244, and her direct line is 646-660-6519.  She looks forward to getting to know each of you, and to collaborating with you and your colleagues.

Please join me in welcoming her to Baruch.
