From Elena M Martinez, Director of the Paul A. Feit Memorial Lecture Series
Celebrating Women's History Month, the Paul A. Feit Memorial Lecture Series and the Department of Modern Languages and Comparative Literature, in collaboration with the Cuban Cultural Center of New York, invite you to an illustrated presentation on the pivotal role played by Cuban women during colonial times and the early decades of the 20th century. The lecture will feature archival photographs and documents shown in public for the first time. The speaker, Professor Raquel Vinat de la Mata, is researcher emerita of Havana's Instituto de Historia and the author of four books and numerous articles on 19th-century Cuba.
The lecture will be in Spanish.
