The Baruch College Dare to Engage Working Group* is sponsoring a Safe Zone Workshop for the Baruch College community on Tuesday, February 24, at 12:30pm in NVC 2-125.
Safe Zone is a two-hour workshop where Baruch students, faculty, and staff can acquire a foundational understanding of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, questioning, intersex, and ally (LGBTQIA) communities. Participants will leave this session with a basic understanding of related terms, a history of LGBTQIA concerns in the United States, an awareness of how to be a better ally, and resources for further learning.

* The Dare to Engage Working Group is dedicated to ensuring that Baruch College provides a welcoming, safe and supportive environment for its lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, intersex and allied (LGBTQIA) students, faculty, and staff. We believe that only by creating an open and inclusive environment can the Baruch community grow into an accepting campus, committed to the safety and development of its members in the areas of sexual orientation and gender identity expression. The group serves as an advocate and resource dedicated to the ongoing exploration of the LGBTQIA experience inside and outside of the classroom through campus programming, education, consultation and support.
