The Latino Students Clubs of Baruch College proudly invite you to a special screening of A Better Life, a film directed by Chris Weitz, who is better known as the director of The Twilight Saga. The lead actor, Damian Bichir, was nominated for an Academy Award as Best Actor this year. This is a very touching film about a gardener in East L.A. who struggles to keep his son away from gangs and immigration agents while trying to give his son the opportunities he never had.

Chris Weitz has graciously agreed to participate in an open discussion immediately following the screening.

In an effort to bring awareness about the challenges of the undocumented, the student clubs have organized a reception with food, refreshments and speakers. Donations will be collected (see below).

Friday, March 23, 2012 at Engelman Recital Hall

12:15 pm - Doors open

1:00 pm - Film starts

Following Screening - Question and Answer Session with Chris Weitz

3:50 pm - Reception, Food, Conversation & Looking Ahead (in NVC 1-107)

Suggested donation: $5.00

All proceeds will go to support the United We Dream Network, the aim of which is to achieve equal access to higher education for all people, regardless of immigration status.
