Dear Colleagues:

Now is the time to list the textbooks for all Spring 2019 courses in CUNYfirst. Federal Education Law requires that students have information about all course costs when they register for Baruch; this means that textbooks should posted by October 20. According to the Higher Education Act passed in 2008, students are entitled to see this information before they begin to register on October 29.

Currently, all Baruch Spring 2019 courses are listed as “no textbook required.” Thus, if you intend to use a textbook, you need to enter information in CUNYFirst. This is a change from what you were asked to do in the Fall 2018 report, and should spare those of you with teaching labs, studio courses, journalism courses, or independent studies some extra work.

Additional help:

This link provides information on the various means of uploading textbook information into CUNYfirst:  http://www.baruch.cuny.edu/cunyfirst/faculty.html

For those who prefer a live support session, one will be held on Tuesday, October 16, from 4-5:00 pm in room 656 of the Kaplan Computing Center, which is next to the helpdesk on the 6th floor of the Library and Technology Building. Please register for the session here:  https://baruch.az1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_bKNFQzHOqba0lzD

Difficulties with accessing CUNYfirst should be referred to the helpdesk of BCTC (x1010).

Bookstore:

The Baruch Bookstore does not have access to CUNYfirst and thus cannot enter the information for you: they rely on your timely entries in CUNYfirst to order books for Baruch students. The secondhand book market, in particular, has early deadlines. James Behrle, the Barns & Noble Bookstore textbook manager, is willing to serve as a resource for textbook information. He can be reached at tm8065@bncollege.com or at 646-312-4854.

Thanks for your help.
