Tuesday, Feb. 24, 12:40-2:00 in NVC 14-270  A book discussion by journalist and author Marcus Baram, who will be playing song clips and reading from his book, Gil Scott-Heron: Pieces of a Man (St. Martin's Press, 2014). Gil Scott-Heron had a big impact on musicians from Elvis Costello to Kanye West and famously said "The Revolution Will Not Be Televised!"

Tuesday, March 3, 12:40-2:00, NVC 10-150  The Annual History Department Friedman Symposium, "The Rebellious Life of Rosa Parks," a talk by Jeanne Theoharis, Distinguished Professor of Political Science, Brooklyn College, and author of the NAACP Image Award-winning book, The Rebellious Life of Mrs. Rosa Parks ( Beacon Press, 2013).
