Improving Student Public Speaking with Video
Wednesday, September 19, 2:30-3:30 AND Thursday, September 20, 1:00-2:00, 137 E. 25th St., Room 323
This workshop will introduce faculty to the Video Oral Communication Assessment Tool (VOCAT), a web application developed and hosted at Baruch College to collect, store, and evaluate video recordings of students’ oral presentations: www.baruch.cuny.edu/vocat. We will review a model implementation of the tool in Communication Studies classes, survey the range of uses across the Baruch curriculum including in Management, Accountancy, and Theatre courses, and will show how to get started using the tool in your class.
