From: Prof. Bill Ferns, Paul H. Chook Department of Information Systems & Statistics
Last fall, some faculty proposed a faculty book club, and the college ran a poll that selected the winner of the 2009 Pulitzer Prize in General Nonfiction: Douglas A. Blackmon, Slavery by Another Name: The Re-Enslavement of Black Americans from the Civil War to World War II. http://www.pulitzer.org/winners/douglas-blackmon
Several groups of staff and faculty are forming to discuss the book in the next few weeks. Rather than waiting until people have read the entire book, the discussion groups will start with just the first chapter, which alone is worthy of a full discussion. If you are interested in joining one of the discussion groups, please contact Bill Ferns at email@example.com.
