Understanding Diverse and Inclusive Communities

Queens College, November 12-13, 2018

Queens College/CUNY welcomes everyone to its third annual conference on inclusion and diversity generously made possible by the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation. Our conference, “Understanding Diverse and Inclusive Communities,” forms part of a long-term project to enhance the diversity of our faculty and support research, teaching, and creative accomplishment that promote diversity and inclusion on our campus and in the community. Situated in the most diverse urban locale in the United States, Queens College boasts a remarkably diverse student body with students hailing from 150 countries and speaking 70 languages. The two-day conference will feature presenters from outside and across the U.S. as well as our own Queens College faculty. Their presentations will provide attendees the opportunity to learn, network, and contribute to our larger understanding of the factors shaping diversity and inclusion.
