Each year some religious holidays occur when classes are in session. The Provost’s Office usually circulates a list of the holidays that appear on the City of New York’s website at http://www.nyc.gov/html/dot/html/motorist/alternate-side-parking.shtm. Some students might wish to observe some of them. Please take these holidays into consideration in scheduling exams and assignments and permit those who observe the holiday an opportunity to make up any missed assignments or exams. Students are responsible for making up any missed work.
Members of the faculty who cannot teach on a holiday for religious reasons should discuss the upcoming holiday with their Chair and work to arrange alternative coverage for their classes.
