Exams only in scheduled times
April 17, 2020
We’ve recently become aware of members of the faculty scheduling midterm exams during time slots other than those scheduled for their classes. To be clear: Midterm exams scheduled for specific times (as opposed to asynchronous exams) should be conducted within your scheduled class time. Scheduling exams outside of scheduled class (or final exam) times will pose schedule conflicts for students who have other classes or exams.
Please consider asynchronous options in case students are not available during the regularly scheduled times. With many of our students having to share access to devices/access to Wi-Fi, etc. and also care for other family members, not all will be available during synchronous slots even though they would have been in a normal semester. In short, flexibility has to be paramount.
As is always true, final exams should be conducted following the published final exam schedule.
