Further information:
The current secretary describes the duties and skills as follows: “taking minutes, which involves documenting the date, time, location, and attendees of the meeting; recording key discussion points, decisions made, and actions to be taken; and capturing the rationale and context behind decisions.” “To take minutes effectively, one needs to stay informed about current events and developments at both the college and university levels. This knowledge allows for an accurate summary of the President’s or Provost’s remarks during meetings. … I began taking minutes as an assistant professor myself, so it’s certainly possible for someone in that position to handle the task competently.”
