Previous Mental Health Awareness Week Events 2024

Baruch’s third annual Mental Health Awareness Week was held from Monday, March 4, through Friday, March 8, 2024. The theme was “Caring for Self and Others”.

This campus-specific week was developed within Baruch’s Suicide Prevention Taskforce and is offered in partnership with the Counseling Center and the Human Resources Department. The concept includes faculty, students, and staff so that the entire Baruch community can get to know the resources that are available to you, as well as the people around the College who are here to support and assist.

Mindful Monday Reset

Mindful Monday Reset is a half-hour weekly virtual gathering that provides an opportunity to slow down, get present, and be intentional about the coming week in a safe and welcoming space with others in our Baruch Community. It is organized by the Office of Health & Wellness and the CUNY DEI Incubator at Baruch. All are welcome.

Depression Screening

Tuesday, March 5, 12:15pm–2:30pm
Lobby of the Newman Vertical Campus (use the Plaza entrance to the NVC)

Please join us to get screened for depression and meet and chat with counselors from the Baruch College Counseling Center. We hope to see you there!

Students are able to get a better understanding of their mental health by completing a screening form that has markers for depression at our table.

Counselors will then briefly meet one-on-one with each student to provide feedback and help them to connect to the Counseling Center at Baruch or outside counseling as needed or desired.

Body Positivity Celebration

Let’s celebrate Body Positivity! Come to speak with staff from the Baruch Counseling Center to learn about eating disorders, complete a screening and learn about resources for support. Create your own body positive poster using craft materials provided at the table, then take it home to provide you with inspiration!
