TO:    Deans and Department Chairs

FROM: Ronny Widener, Director of Human Resources

SUBJECT:
Report of Adjunct Workload

Enclosed is the Fall 2003 Workload Reporting form for adjunct personnel.

Adjuncts may be assigned no more than nine classroom contact hours in any one unit of CUNY. In addition, a course of not more than six hours may be taught at another unit of CUNY. An adjunct may not be employed at more than two CUNY units.

Graduate Assistants A may not be employed as adjuncts. Graduate assistants B and C may accept limited adjunct employment under certain
circumstances. Check with Human Resources before offering employment.

Please review these contractual provisions with your staff members prior to offering them employment. Review their commitments
at Baruch and elsewhere in CUNY. One copy of the completed form is kept in the adjuncts personal file and another copy should be sent to Human Resources by September 25, 2003.

Thank you. Your continuing cooperation has enabled us to substantially reduce our excess workload problems.

c:
Provost David G. Dannenbring
