The Student Academic Consulting Center’s mission is to help the undergraduates of Baruch College succeed academically and in their chosen professions by helping them throughout their college years to develop the skills and knowledge necessary for future success.
The Writing Center offers free support to all Baruch students. Our professional consultants—teachers of college writing and writers themselves—work collaboratively with students to deepen their writing and English language skills. This center helps students become more independent, confident, and versatile writers at any step of the process.
The Tools for Clear Speech (TfCS) program improves the pronunciation, fluency, and pragmatic abilities of English language learners (ELLs) and non-native English speakers at Baruch College. Our participants achieve more effective and intelligible communication, developing skills that empower them to succeed in their classrooms, careers, and beyond.
The Honors Program advocates for learning across Baruch College by supporting students through honors advisement, fellowships, and cross-college collaboration. These programs include:
The Office of Undergraduate Advisement & Orientation supports all undergraduates’ transition into the Baruch community. The advising and orientation team encourages students to take advantage of the unique educational experience of being on an urban and diverse campus. The advising and orientation team is dedicated to helping students navigate college life. In partnership with our students, we provide advice and guidance helping each student pave their way towards graduation and the actualization of their educational, career and life goals.
New Student Programs(NSP) exists to help new students experience a seamless transition to Baruch College. NSP provides first-year and transfer students with an opportunity to develop the tools necessary to acclimate and succeed in college. As such, the First-Year Seminar and Transfer Student Network are especially designed to expose new students to study skills, time management, community engagement, leadership, and access to on- and off-campus resources.
