Follow-up:
Two additional suggestions also may be helpful:
- Go to your settings for the Zoom site (at baruch.zoom.us/signin) and, at the bottom of the page, under “Meeting Options,” click the box for “Only authenticated users can join.”
- Then, in the dropbox, select “Baruch Users Only.” This will mean that students to have to log in to Zoom on the Baruch website using their Baruch email address. It also helps to track who is in the room in case some other inappropriate behaviors occur.

UPDATE (this applied to other types of accounts): Please note that as of Sunday, September 27, Zoom is requiring all meetings to have a passcode or a waiting room enabled. (The announcement is available at https://blogs.baruch.cuny.edu/bctc/2020/09/25/zoom-meeting-changes/.)
Also please note that per the CUNY Zoom Security Protocol (https://www.cuny.edu/wp-content/uploads/sites/4/page-assets/about/administration/offices/cis/it-resources-for-remote-work-teaching/Zoom-Security-Protocol.pdf), CUNY requires all meetings to use a passcode, and strongly recommends the use of the waiting room as well.
