The Role of Insurers in Delivering a Greener Future. Speakers: Deborah Balk, Marxe School of Public and International Affairs; Christian Braneon, Goddard Space Flight Center at National Aeronautics and Space Administration; Gabriela Hermosilla, AXA; Greg Lindsay, NewCities; Andrew MacFarlane, Global Markets, AXA XL; and Scott Smith, Changeist.
Insurance is fundamentally a form of risk management whereby decisions are made based on possible future events and their likely impacts. The better an insurance company can predict and avoid future risk, the more successful the company. It is with this eye toward the future that French insurance titan AXA developed its latest Foresight Report, 2040: Exploring Society’s Future Challenges. The report identifies climate change as one of the three main challenges facing society and details how the insurance industry is uniquely positioned to influence behaviors that impact the climate for the better. By looking at the big picture, AXA aims not only for more success, but also to contribute solutions to the interconnected challenges of tomorrow. For more information, click HERE.
