From: Allison Lehr Samuels, Director, Baruch Center for Teaching and Learning and Lecturer, Narendra Paul Loomba Department of Management
Dear Colleagues,
It’s hard to believe that we’re nearing the end of this challenging semester and are now preparing for teaching online this summer. We’ve witnessed the tremendous effort and thought you have put into making the rapid shift to online teaching and hope the resources below will make preparing for the summer go more smoothly.
Over the next four weeks, the CTL will help you to take steps towards developing your summer course to be fully online. Today we’re sharing “Week 1” of our Online Course Prep Guide. Stay tuned for “Week 2” early next week…..
To accompany this guide, there are several opportunities to get more support. Synchronous ways include:
- Setting up a one-on-one appointment with CTL consultants
- Synchronous weekly workshops
Asynchronous learning opportunities are:
- A new Q&A forum where you can post your questions, suggestions, or teaching tips for converting and preparing your courses for online learning.
- Discussing ideas for fostering a classroom community online.
In the upcoming weeks, we will also share programming that focuses more specifically on getting ready for the Fall semester and announce the findings of our survey that asked our students about their experiences learning online this semester.
Wishing you and your loved ones well as you wrap up this unique semester,
Allison
