IRB Manager Announcement

January 2, 2020

From:  Keisha Peterson, Director, Office of Research Compliance & Outreach

Dear Baruch Research Community:

Multiple concerns have been expressed by the Baruch community regarding the current human subjects research electronic submission system IDEATE. CUNY Central listened to those concerns and convened a working group that included constituents from faculty, HRPP, IT & Academic Affairs staff. The working group reviewed nine electronic systems and recommended three. Once the final three systems were chosen, IRB Chairs, Vice-Chairs, and Staff identified IRB Manager, which has many benefits and is buildable by expanding its use to other areas of research compliance. The Office of Research has entered into a contract to transition from our current system, Ideate, to the preferred comprehensive system, IRB Manager. A transition plan is currently being developed. You will be informed of transition timelines once the plan is finalized.

Best Regards,

Keisha
