Message to Faculty: Honors Admissions Committee
December 11, 2024
Dear Baruch Faculty,
We need your support to craft our newest Honors Class. We are reaching out to invite you to read applications as a member of the Honors Admissions Committee for the Class of 2029. This committee will read applications for students who applied via the Macaulay Honors College at Baruch and will use the results to offer admissions to both the Macaulay Honors College and the Baruch Scholars Program.
We will hold 4 in-person reading days. These will be a few hours in the morning AND/OR afternoon.
We are holding 1/15, 1/24, 1/29 and 1/31 with other dates possible if these dates don’t work for everyone.
Snacks and lots of coffee will be available. We’ll start with a quick training and then pair everyone for the day so each application gets two readers. The advantage of in-person readings is that we’ll be able to guarantee that applications will be ready on the day that you come to read, and you’ll know that your commitment to reading is done on that day. If you are unable to make the in-person days, but are still interested in participating, please let us know. We can accommodate committee members who want to participate by reading on their own time.
Faculty engagement is essential to the success of the Honors Program at Baruch. Last year, we received over 1,500 applications for 120 spots, so we need your help!
Please let us know your availability in the Qualtrics survey here.
