“Mental Health First Aid” (MHFA) 8-hour training
From: Douglas A. Medina, Associate Director, Baruch College Honors Program
Similar to “First Aid” and CPR, “Mental Health First Aid” teaches individuals how to help those experiencing mental health challenges or crises. See attached for more information about MHFA.
WHAT: Baruch College in collaboration with the NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene, the Baruch College Honors Program, with the support of the Provost’s Office will train up to 30 higher education professionals, including faculty and staff. Trainings are free of charge.
The trainings will be conducted by Douglas Medina, Associate Director, Honors Program and Certified Mental Health First Aid Instructor and it will focus on higher education populations. (Co-trainer TBD.) Attendees will be given a certificate upon completion of the training.
WHEN: Wednesday, January 23, 2019, 9:00am-5:30pm (light breakfast and coffee will be served; lunch on your own)
NB: MUST BE PRESENT FOR THE ENTIRE 8-hour TRAINING IN ORDER TO RECEIVE THE CERTIFICATE
WHERE: Baruch College, NVC 14-270.
