Dear Faculty Colleagues,
To reduce the number of standalone event announcements sent from my email account, beginning Thursday, February 28, 2019, my office will curate and send such announcements weekly on Thursdays (or, rarely, on Fridays or over the weekend).
By “events,” I mean any type of scheduled activity (e.g., a scholarly presentation, brown bag discussion, concert or play).
Submissions to the New Faculty Digital Calendar of Events
To have your event included on the new weekly roundup, you will need to fill out and submit this form by noon on Wednesday of the week before the event takes place. For the form to be officially submitted, you will need to provide the following:
-
- the name and email address of the person submitting the information
-
- the name of the event (e.g., title of talk, name of play)
-
- the name(s) of the speaker(s)/performer(s)
-
- the date, time (start and end), location
-
- rsvp information (if needed)
-
- an email or phone number (or both) for additional information
Also included is an optional section for a description of the event of 1,000 characters or fewer. This might include the name of the series to which the event belongs (e.g., International Business Seminar, Faculty Lunch Seminar, Silberman Concert Series), event sponsors, speaker biography, and/or a brief abstract of the event. If more space is needed, the information in its entirety should be posted on a website and the link should appear in the description in a format such as “For more information, see…”
Additional Scheduling Notes: Please note that late submissions will not be posted. Incomplete entries will not be posted. As indicated above, the submission must be received by noon on Wednesday of the week prior to the event. As in the past, these listings may be retrieved from this archive of announcements.
Other Internal Communications
Event-related announcements are not the only category of announcements you receive from me. You will continue to receive announcements regarding teaching, research, and administration (e.g., deadlines, fellowship opportunities, academic initiatives). For the time being, those formats will not change.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
