Dear Adjunct Colleagues,
I’m writing to extend a belated welcome to Spring 2019 at Baruch to all of you, but especially to those new to our shores. Your work is essential to our mission and to our students’ success. Welcome!
I also wanted to draw your attention to a resource that might help you orient yourself at Baruch, our Faculty Handbook. The Handbook contains so many links that I can’t vouch for its absolute up-to-dateness, but we try: if you find links that seem out of date or are simply broken (or can’t find something you think should be there or have suggestons for further cross listings), please bring your discoveries or ideas to my attention. Here is the alphabetical list of topics: http://www.baruch.cuny.edu/facultyhandbook/topics.htm
In a few minutes I’ll be sending an email entitled “Suppport Services for Students.” Please have a look, and, when you have time, click on the links to learn more about the services we offer. Does something seem to be missing? By all means let me know. And please feel free to forward the list to your students.
Finally, as part of the implementation of the first goal of the college’s 2018-2023 strategic plan (“Uphold the College’s long-standing commitments to excellent and effective teaching and learning”), we would like to know about your experiences at Baruch, whether you’ve been here for 30+ years, are now in your second week of teaching here, or anywhere in between. To that end, please keep your eye out for a survey that will attempt to capture your thoughts on the subject. We expect to send it before the end of the month
Very best wishes,
Dennis Slavin, PhD
