Self-Service Password Reset for Baruch Accounts
September 21, 2020
From: Arthur Downing, Vice President for Information Services and Dean of the Library
Many staff and faculty are contacting the help desk to reset the password associated with their Baruch username. Baruch has a self-service password management system, MyPassword, that allows users to reset their own passwords and get access to their accounts when a password has expired. All it requires is for a user to set up a profile that includes answers to challenge questions (e.g., “What is your favorite food?”). In advance of needing a password reset, users should go to the MyPassword site (https://www.baruch.cuny.edu/bctc/mypassword), login with their current Baruch username and password, then select “Edit my profile.” The instructions for completing the profile are posted on the BCTC website: https://www.baruch.cuny.edu/bctc/mypassword/completeprofile.htm.
The help desk also receives requests for assistance from users who cannot remember the answers to their MyPassword challenge questions. Please choose answers that you will recall easily and are not complicated to type.
MyPassword does not manage passwords for systems that require CUNY login credentials, such as CUNYfirst and Blackboard. CUNY has its own password recovery process, which is available on the CUNY login page.
