From:  Linda M. Lemiesz, Chief of Staff, Office of the Provost and Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs

Dear Colleagues:

According to the Higher Education Act of 2009, students are entitled to see what textbooks are required for a course before they register. CUNY has been monitoring this legal requirement through CUNYfirst. The University Registrar has notified us that the Baruch faculty should submit textbook information to CUNYfirst on these deadlines:

Summer 2019 courses: January 31, 2019

Fall 2019 courses:   February 14, 2019.

Your course will appear as “pending” until you enter your textbook information.  This is a change from what you were asked to do in the Spring 2019 report where the CUNY default was “no textbook required.”

This link provides information on the various means of uploading textbook information into CUNYfirst:

Difficulties with accessing CUNYfirst should be referred to the helpdesk of BCTC (x1010).

Please note that you may continue to add information for the Spring 2019 semester until January 25.

Feel free to refer any additional difficulties to me.

Linda M. Lemiesz, Ph.D., J.D.
