Request an in-class workshop or classroom visit from the Writing Center
Dear Members of the Faculty:
The Writing Center invites you to request a classroom visit or in-class workshop this fall. Each semester, we lead over 80 combined classroom visits and in-class workshops, introducing our services to students across disciplines and from their first semester through graduate programs.”
In a classroom visit: We’ll present a 10-15 minute overview that introduces our mission, describes our services, and helps students determine how they can make the best use of the Writing Center’s resources. You can request a visit by using this form.
In an in-class workshop: An experienced, professional Writing Center consultant will present one of our 20+ workshops on a wide variety of writing, reading, research, interpretation, and analysis skills. Our workshops typically last about 75 minutes, and you can find descriptions and lesson plans on our website.
To ensure the success of the workshops for all involved, we ask that participating faculty:
•request in-class workshops at least two weeks prior to the desired workshop date(s) and
•be present for the entirety of the workshop.
If you’re interested in requesting one or more workshops, please review descriptions and lesson plans, and then use this link to submit a request.
If you have any questions about workshops, class visits, or the Writing Center’s services, please contact the center’s director, Diana Hamilton, at email@example.com.
