January 21, 2020

Dear Colleagues,

As of yesterday, we lacked textbooks for more than 800 sections.

With apologies to those who have entered the names of their Spring 2020 textbook(s) in CUNYfirst, I’m writing:

  • to remind those who require texts to enter them now (if they have not done so) and
  • to remind those who do not require texts to indicate that on CUNYFirst.

As noted last October (see below), this requirement comes to us via the Federal Higher Education Act of 2008.

For more information on the process, see the link below.

Subject: Textbook orders for Spring 2020

Dear Colleagues:

The University Registrar has once again requested that textbook orders be entered in CUNYfirst. Spring 2020 textbook choices should be entered as soon as possible, with the goal of having full information in the system by October 25. According to the Higher Education Act passed in 2008, students are entitled to see this information before they begin to register on October 29.

Additional help:

This link provides information on the various means of uploading textbook information into CUNYfirst:

http://www.baruch.cuny.edu/cunyfirst/faculty.html

Difficulties with accessing CUNYfirst should be referred to the helpdesk of BCTC (x1010).

Bookstore

The Baruch Bookstore does not have access to CUNYfirst. If you would like the bookstore to carry your textbook, please contact the bookstore directly. Jasmine Brown, the textbook manager, is willing to serve as a resource for textbook information. She can be reached at tm8065@bncollege.com or at extension 4854. This is a separate action from the need to provide information to CUNYfirst.

Thanks for your help.
