Baruch’s school song, variously referred to as our Alma Mater or anthem, was written by one of our students, Miriam Blech, in the 1970s. Ms. Blech’s song, “Standing High Above the City’s Mighty Roar,” was the winning entry in a competition to create a College song. Ms. Blech composed the music and wrote the words. In the 1990s, Grace Schulman, Distinguished Professor of English at Baruch, revised the words.
