December 1, 2020
From: Rachél Fester, Assistant Provost for Assessment, Accreditation, and Institutional Effectiveness
The CUNY Assessment Council is pleased to announce the launch of a FREE CUNY Assessment 101 Online Course created and sponsored by the CUNY Assessment Council as well as CUNY Central Office of Academic Affairs. This course is designed for faculty, administration, and staff who are interested in learning more about assessment of all aspects of their work, including student learning, as well as of administrative, educational, and student support units.
Please visit the Assessment 101 webpage for more information and instructions on how to enroll in the course.
We want to take this opportunity to thank the project co-chairs Abigail Morrison, CUNY School of Professional Studies; Erika Carlson, Borough of Manhattan Community College; and Rachél Fester, Baruch College, and about twenty Assessment Council members from across CUNY that contributed to the creation of this course. The marketing efforts by a subgroup of the Assessment Council are underway, thanks to Melissa Sultana, Baruch College and the subgroup.
The development of this course would not have been possible without the support from CUNY’s Office of Academic Affairs which provided a grant of $20,000 to the project. We also want to acknowledge and thank Karen Kapp who serves on the Assessment Council as a liaison from CUNY Office of Academic Affairs for providing ongoing support throughout this project.
We invite you to enroll in the course and share this information with faculty, staff, and administrators on your campus.
Baruch community: If you experience technical difficulties logging on to Blackboard, please contact the BCTC help desk at helpdesk@baruch.cuny.edu. If you have questions or feedback about the online course itself, please contact Rachél Fester at rachel.fester@baruch.cuny.edu.
